Firewalls, VPNs, wifi that reaches the far end of the workshop, and site to site links between branches.£3,000 to £6,000

Your network is the plumbing everything else runs through. The firewall at the edge, the switches that connect it all, the wifi people actually use, the links between sites, and the rules about what is allowed to talk to what. When it is right you never think about it. When it is wrong it shows up as a hundred small daily frustrations that nobody quite connects to a single cause.
Most small-business networks were never designed, they accumulated. A router from the broadband provider, a wifi extender bought in a panic, a switch added when someone ran out of ports, and a firewall still on its factory settings from the day it arrived. Each decision made sense on its own, and the result is a network that is slow in odd places, insecure in ways nobody has checked, and impossible to fix quickly because no one understands the whole of it.
We design it as one thing. What needs to reach what, where the weak points are, how it should cope when a part fails, and how it stays secure as people work from home and on site as well as in the office. The aim is a network you can forget about, because forgetting about it is exactly what a good one lets you do.
See it work
Run a health check and see the kind of problems we catch and fix remotely.
A scripted demonstration on sample kit. On yours we run a real remote check and send you the plain-English findings before touching anything.
The first thing you get back is the hour a week that quietly leaks away to connectivity: the wifi that drops in the meeting room, the file that takes forever to open from the far office, the video call that stutters at eleven every morning. Individually they are shrugged off. Added up across a team they are a real cost, and a properly built network simply removes them.
The second is security you can actually rely on. A firewall left on defaults and a flat network where everything can reach everything is an open invitation, and it is exactly what attackers scan for. Segmenting the network and configuring the edge properly means a guest phone, a compromised laptop or a dodgy device cannot wander straight into your servers and records.
And it makes growth and change boring, which is what you want. Adding a site, moving premises, or supporting a team that now works everywhere is a planned adjustment to a network someone understands, rather than a fresh crisis each time. Boring infrastructure is the goal; excitement in your network is almost always bad news.

Illustrative cases. Tap one to see what happened and what could have been done.
The case
An engineering firm had office wifi that worked fine at reception and died completely in the workshop where the actual work happened, so tablets on the shop floor were useless and everyone drifted back to paper.
What could have been done
A proper survey and access points built for that environment, rather than a home extender, give the whole site solid coverage, so the shop-floor systems they had paid for finally get used.
The case
A medical practice had every device, from reception PCs to the guest wifi in the waiting room, sitting on one flat network where anything could reach anything, so a single infected phone could have reached the patient records.
What could have been done
Segmenting the network properly, locking the guest network away from everything clinical, and configuring the firewall as it should have been from day one leaves the same building and kit with a completely different risk.
