Managed hosting with backups, monitoring and a real person answering when it breaks. Domains and business email included.£40 to £120/month

Hosting is the space your website and email actually live in, the always-on computer that serves your site to visitors and moves your mail. It is the most invisible part of being online, right up until it fails, at which point it becomes the most important thing in the business, because a site that is down and email that will not send stop work dead. Managed hosting is about making sure that day rarely comes, and is handled fast when it does.
The word managed is the whole point. Cheap hosting is a slice of a server handed over with no one watching it, and you only discover the problem when your site is already down or your mail already bouncing. Managed hosting is monitored, backed up and kept updated, with the security certificates and patches handled for you, so most problems are caught and fixed before you would ever have noticed them.
Domains and business email sit alongside it, and both matter more than people think. A domain is your address on the internet, and letting it be registered by someone else, or quietly lapse, is how businesses lose their own name; we keep it in your name and renewed. Business email set up properly is secure, professional and works on every device, rather than the fragile arrangement that breaks the day someone gets a new phone.
The first benefit is simply that things stay up, and someone real answers when they do not. Downtime is expensive in ways that are easy to underestimate: the sales not made, the emails not received, the impression left on a customer who arrived to a dead site. Monitored, backed-up hosting with a person on the end of the phone turns hosting from a lurking risk into something you genuinely never have to think about.
The second is security you do not have to manage yourself. A neglected site is a target, and out-of-date software, an expired certificate or a missing backup is exactly what gets a small site defaced, hijacked or held to ransom. Keeping the updates, certificates and backups current is dull, constant work, and having it handled means the safe, trusted version of your site is the one the world sees.
And it keeps you in control of your own identity online. Because the domain and the accounts are in your name and everything is portable, you are never in the position, which catches out so many businesses, of discovering that your website, your domain or your email is effectively owned by a supplier you have fallen out with. It is your address and your presence, and it stays that way.

Illustrative cases. Tap one to see what happened and what could have been done.
The case
A long-established firm had a near miss: their domain had been registered years earlier in a former web designer's own account, and it almost expired without anyone knowing, which would have taken their website and every email address down and let anyone buy the name.
What could have been done
Moving the domain into the company's own name and putting renewals on a managed footing means the thing their whole online presence depends on can never quietly disappear again.
The case
A retailer's site went down in the early hours when a server issue hit their old unmanaged host, the kind of thing that, unwatched, greets you with a dead shop and lost morning sales.
What could have been done
Monitored hosting catches the alert overnight and fixes it remotely before the business opens, so they arrive to a working site none the wiser. On the old host it would have been found by a customer, hours into the day.

Getting found in Google and now inside AI answers too. Buyers increasingly ask ChatGPT, Perplexity or Google's AI Overviews before they ask a search box, and the work to be the source those tools quote has its own name now: answer engine optimisation.
Customer portals, booking systems and internal tools. The bits an off the shelf website cannot do.
